An outfit.

Here I am.
I love my peace sign necklace! and must say I was a tad annoyed when it seemed to come into fashion ( peace signs that is.)
I love them, and I think if I were to get a tattoo it would probably be of one, or a four leaf clover, as Im very superstitious!
The pattern on the dress also has a 60s feel to it, which fits with the peace sign.

Flowers in the garden..

Its always the case, isn't it, that you forget to appreciate the things around you- the things you see every day, and actually, the things which, even if you don't realise it, shape the way we see the world, and inspire us creatively.

There are hundreds of beautiful flowers around my house at the moment, so I took this as an opportunity to take a few photos of them(perhaps a little over exposed), before they're gone with the short english summer..

one for fun..

I only just recently used the Barry M cracking nail varnish!!
( I know, I know- you're all over it now? )
Here were my results:

Although its an interesting effect, I didn't like the rough texture it left behind, and I think I would use the white one next time, as black wasn't my favourite.

My work is up on Rhythm Circus.

Pleased to say, my work is up on the new and improved Rhythm circus website..

jewellery

Heres the kind of jewellery I usually wear.
Rings are a problem for me. Most of the high street stores only have massive sizes, which just slip off my fingers :(( (to be honest this one in the photo, from Primark falls off very easily)

Ring: Primark
Beaded pearl bracelet: Bought in Turkey
Cross bracelet: Bought in Greece.
This bracelet has a way of making me feel safe, with the evil eye and the cross.
Peace sign bracelet: Thomas Sabo
The lovely girls from my house at uni, and the boys from our old flat bought this for me for my birthday, and I love it :))

As a lot of you probably know, I am studying Fashion with Photography at Uni.
I chose this course initially, because I wasn't sure which path to take.
I have found however, that having 2 subjects results in a much more watered down learning, which puts us at a disadvantage to people studying straight photography. Somehow I don't think our pathetic friday practical lessons are going to help us now..

Never the less, I still want to learn, and will be concentrating on the technical side of it in my own time. This is the part I find the trickiest, so I should be making sure I learn a lot.

I got the new Canon 600D for my birthday, which is a lot better and clearer than the Nikon D40 I had before.. especially when it comes to enlarging and editing photos on Photoshop :))

Aim of the summer: Get a light meter, and get my work published in a magazine.
Hard work should pay off eventually?? Lets hope so...
:) xxx

p.s- I know I look bald in this photo lol, but I promise.. I DO have hair!

Selling items

As many of you probably remember, I went through a faze of making and selling friendship bracelets last summer. It seems I always need something to do.. I honestly don't understand people who are just happy to sit doing nothing for hours on end, day after day.
So even though that little venture only made me in total around £60 from £1 and £2 bracelets it was something to fill the spaces, and a little help with money.
This year, I got home and had a massive clearout.
You won't believe what stuff you've kept hidden away and never used in years!
Here is one of the items I cleared out...

I sold it on Ebay for £13. Literally wasn't sad to see it go one bit.(The leather wasn't only made of camel, it smelt like one too) lol

Still have a whole other 2 boxes to shift now... lets hope I can make a little more money, and a lot more space :)

Turkish lamps

I went to Turkey in June, to Gumbet.
On a very tight budget, and obviously not such great judgement on the selection, we were disappointed to find a gravel beach, and food that gave everyone dodgy tummies.
So anyway, after being chucked off the only piece of shipped in sand on the beach, and beginning to dread what we'd recognise as the same old food on the table, these lamps were a lovely find..
